We are a specialized oral and maxillofacial surgical office managed by Bruce A. Huberman, DMD, specializing primarily in the placement of dental implants.

Welcome to The Center for Implant Surgery, managed and operated by Dr. Bruce A. Huberman, a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He attended Clark University where he obtained a BA in Biology. He then attended UMDNJ Dental School followed by 1-year residency in Hospital Dentistry at Bellevue Hospital. This was followed by a 4-year residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at University Hospital in Newark (state trauma center) . Following this up with an AO Fellowship in Basel, Switzerland, performing advanced techniques in craniofacial and trauma surgery. Dr. Huberman's main focus is now replacing missing teeth through the process of implant surgery.

For most patients, the placement of dental implants involves two surgical procedures. First, implants are placed within your jawbone. For the first three to six months following surgery, the implants are beneath the surface of the gums gradually bonding with the jawbone. You should be able to wear temporary dentures and eat a soft diet during this time. At the same time, your dentist is forming new replacement teeth. After the implant has bonded to the jawbone, the second phase begins. Dr. Huberman will uncover the implants and attach small posts which will act as anchors for the artificial teeth. These posts protrude through the gums. When the artificial teeth are placed these posts will not be seen. The entire procedure usually takes six to eight months. Most patients experience minimal disruption in their daily life.

Our practice performs all forms of oral  surgery, however the replacement of missing teeth using implants is our most common procedure.  We look forward to treating you as a patient and our consultations for patients with missing teeth are always free.  If you are looking for dental implants in Queens then take advantage of our free consultations with Dr. Huberman.

Understanding why dental implants are the accepted modality in the US for replacing missing teeth and how despite having lost teeth you can still have a beautiful smile.

Dental implants are widely accepted as a preferred modality for replacing missing teeth in the United States and many other countries for several reasons:

Natural Look and Feel: Dental implants are designed to mimic the appearance and function of natural teeth. They are custom-made to match the color, shape, and size of the surrounding teeth, resulting in a natural and seamless smile. Implants also provide a stable foundation that allows for comfortable chewing and speaking, enhancing the overall quality of life.

Durability and Longevity: Dental implants are made from biocompatible materials, such as titanium, that fuse with the jawbone through a process called osseointegration. This integration provides exceptional stability and durability, making implants a long-lasting solution. With proper care and maintenance, dental implants can often last a lifetime, unlike other tooth replacement options that may require replacement or repair over time.

Preservation of Jawbone and Facial Structure: When a tooth is lost, the underlying jawbone may start to deteriorate over time due to lack of stimulation. Dental implants replace the root of the missing tooth and provide the necessary stimulation to the jawbone, helping to preserve its volume and density. This contributes to maintaining the natural shape of the jawbone and facial structure.

Improved Oral Health: Unlike traditional tooth-supported bridges, which require adjacent teeth to be modified or trimmed down for support, dental implants do not rely on neighboring teeth for support. This preservation of adjacent teeth allows for better long-term oral health. Additionally, individual implants are easier to clean and maintain, promoting better oral hygiene and reducing the risk of dental issues in the future.

Restored Function and Speech: Dental implants provide stable and secure support for replacement teeth, allowing individuals to regain full functionality. With implants, chewing, biting, and speaking can be performed with confidence and without discomfort or concern about the prosthesis shifting or slipping.

Versatility and Adaptability: Dental implants can be used to replace a single missing tooth, multiple teeth, or even an entire arch of teeth. They can be combined with various prosthetic options, including crowns, bridges, or dentures, providing flexibility to address different degrees of tooth loss and patient needs. It's important to note that the suitability of dental implants as a tooth replacement option depends on individual factors such as oral health, bone density, and overall health. A comprehensive evaluation by a dental professional is necessary to determine the most appropriate treatment plan for each patient.

Dental implants may be the solution for your tooth loss.

To confirm whether you are an ideal candidate for dental implants, it's essential to schedule a consultation with a qualified dental professional. They will conduct a thorough examination, review your medical history, and take dental X-rays or scans to assess your oral health and bone density. Based on this evaluation, they can provide personalized recommendations and discuss the best restorative procedures for your specific case.

The advantage of dental implants.

Dental implants are the best replacement for missing teeth and behave exactly like tooth roots. The implants are made of titanium and when placed in the jaw they provide a sturdy foundation that support fixed or removable replacement teeth. The dental restorations are custom-fitted exactly to your mouth. The exact color of your teeth are matched to the color of your implant. The end result delivers an incredibly natural-looking smile where to the human eye there is no evidence of it beign a prosthetic tooth.

Are you a candidate for dental implants?

Are you missing one or more of your teeth? Are you tired of dealing with dentures, partials, or bridges? If so, you are likely a candidate for dental implants.
Candidates for dental implants need to be in good oral and overall health, with healthy gum tissues. Sufficient bone density in the jaw is also required to support the implant. If you suffer bone loss, that does not necessarily exclude you as an implant candidate. Advances in diagnostics and bone reconstruction, including bone grafting, have made it so that most patients can receive implants successfully.
Some lifestyle habits, such as tobacco use or chronic  medical conditions, including diabetes or leukemia, may interfere with healing after implant surgery. At  The  Center for Implant Surgery  , we will assess your individual needs and will help you decide on the rproper restorative procedure for you.

If your smile is making you unhappy then it might be time to do something about it. Fortunately the advice is free, so If you make an appointment at our office to discuss dental implants and we will arrange to have a consultation with Dr. Bruce A. Huberman.
